Surprise, Surprise peta with a "fish are friends not food" campaign.

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=519&u=/ap/20041116/ap_on_re_us/fish_empathy_3&printer=1

I particularly like this quote, "No one would ever put a hook through a dog's or cat's mouth," said Bruce Friedrich, PETA's director of vegan outreach. "Once people start to understand that fish, although they come in different packaging, are just as intelligent, they'll stop eating them."

What these idiots will never understand is the reason I will never put a hook in my dogs mouth is that she points birds for me so I may kill them so that we may EAT!

Director of vegan outreach?????

Anybody know where I can find a job as a Director of spinner outreach?

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Just as intelligent as a cat or dog, huh? Can we get this guy drug tested?

I'll tell you up front that my dog is dumb enough that you could hook her by putting a hook in a smoky-link. But that trick won't work again tomorrow.

A fish is a human is a dog is a cat is an amoeba? Man, that's rough.........one night last summer, I bet I wasted about a thousand brother bugs on the way home one night. Where does it end in PETA-land?

The nerve. I wonder, if they did that how would they water their vegetables? And then how/what would they eat?

That's why you have to be careful about walking on that slippery slope.

I think a reasonable person can see the difference between your dog and a fish.......just like they can see that riding a pack horse isn't abusing it.

But most peole live disconnected from animals. Beside their pets, they have had no dealings with animals on a farm or in the wild. That's why it's easy for groups like PETA to convince them that, by golly, fish are no different than my pet, just in different packaging.

They don't connect T-bones with cows, they don't connect bacon with hogs, they don't connect mass production of vegetables with other dead animals killed harvesting them.

Are we better off if a gopher dies when my potatoes are harvested than if a cow dies to make the roast? And why is that? Should I just grow my own crops, and take extra-special care not to hurt any critters?

See what I mean? I don't know...........I suppose catching and releasing a fish won't get you a "Human of the Year" award from the local fish population, but I sleep just fine at night.

PETA has an anti-vegtable agenda. It's obvious they are racist against the green photo-synthesis (sp) species on this planet. There has been a lot of interesting research done on plant intelligence. Repeatable research has shown that plants respond to human intent. They flourish when given love and attention and die when they are the focus of hate and neglect. That being the case how can PETA encourage only eating vegtables? I can't believe that in these enlightened times our society would allow such anti-species hate talk to be tolerated. PETA needs some diversity training.

Ya know most liberals swing across the board that way.

So it would stand to reason all thoughts would lean in the same direction.

Now then, I would think it would be interesting to learn what most of the PETA folks believe on the Abortion issue.

I think PETA should start at the source first. It will take alot of their efforts preventing the fish from eating fish. If they think a hook in the mouth is painful they need to watch my video on Kings feeding on a herring ball. Not only savage but canibalistic to boot. With that chore at hand, maybe they'll stay off my river bank and away from my sportman's show to boot. As far as the hook in the cat or dogs mouth; I'm sure both of mine would rather take the hook than a can of veg-all for dinner.
